We hope you are all enjoying your Thanksgiving holiday! We love
and miss you all. We thank God for all the love and support you show us!
We started a tradition two years ago in Chad. We took one of our blank journals an
d turned it into our Thanksgiving Day book. There are three entries so far, one from Chad, one from the US and an incomplete one for this year from the island. We try to take time over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend to reflect on the year and record all the blessing for which we are thankful to our Father. We wanted to give you a little taste of what is going in the book this year so that you can give praise and thanks with us.
WE ARE THANKFUL FOR:
- A Great Thanksgiving: real pumpkin pie!, celebrating with friends, time to relax and laugh
- Our Family: a baby boy on the way!, Grace is a happy little girl
that brightens our days, supportive family back home, visit from family in July
- Transitions: From the US to Kenya to Islands, smooth travels and good transitions, Grace did well
- The Island: a beautiful place to serve, a place where the Spirit is moving and exciting things are happening, a place of great potential, leaders stepping up
- Our Home: The Lord provided a great house, a welcoming neighborhood, a place to call home
- Relationships: many islanders that we call friends, chances to go deeper, good feelings with neighbors
- Language: encouragements and progress in language learning, getting past survival level to real communication
- Team: a great team to serve with, good leadership, good fellowship and encouragement
- Health: no major illnesses, protected from malaria, a healthy pregnancy so far!
- Provision: God has provided for all our needs!
It is busy weekend of celebrating on our island. Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving and today our neighbors are celebrating their own holiday. But you can pray that we’ll have time together to thank more and finish this year’s entry.
PRAYERS ANSWERED
We had a good Thanksgiving! The family with malaria is recovered and in good spirits. Tom started teaching the curriculum he developed to train English teachers and it went well. The internet seems to be going much better lately!
PRAYERS REQUESTED
There is a lot of illness around the island right now, lots of malaria and cold/flu. Pray that Megan and the baby would be protected from all illness, as well as Tom, Grace and the rest of the team. Pray that we would have opportunities to remember the upcoming Advent season and share it with our island friends. Megan had two bouts of food not sitting well this week. Pray that would stop. We are trying to work out details for housing when we go to have the baby, pray for that decision process.
