Now it's just the last few hours of our last day in the US for a couple of years. If you have any suggestions of what we should do, feel free to email us in the next couple hours. Otherwise I think we will be puttering around, trying to clear up the messes we have made over the past few months. Grace will take a nap, maybe I will too.
It's the quiet before the storm. Rather than running around to the last final moment we'll take one last long breath before we plunge in to another adventure. As I sit here typing in wintry Massachusetts, it is hard to imagine that in 48 hours our life will be almost completely different.
HERE IS OUR NEXT FEW WEEKS:
Fri. Feb 13- Red-eye flight to London
Sat. Feb 14- 9 hr flight to Kenya (arrive at night)
Sun. Feb 15- Get used to time zone and get African cell phone
Feb 16-20 Attend conference outside Nairobi where we will meet our team members
Feb 21-23 Get to know team/Orientation
Tues. Feb 24- Fly to the Island, our new home!
PRAYERS ANSWERED
Our team leaders took a short trip to the Island and were able to secure a house for the team to stay in when we first get to the island. We are successfully packed! Grace figured out how to crawl this week (see video).
PRAYERS REQUESTED
Thank you for praying for Megan’s uncle Paul. His stroke has left him “locked-in” (alert but totally paralyzed) and unable to breathe on his own. His siblings (including Megan’s dad) are traveling to Houston today to say goodbye. Continue to pray for the entire family, including Paul’s three daughters. Megan isn’t feeling well and Grace has been congested. Pray that they both recover for the plane flights. Pray for our adjustment to the time zone and hot weather (especially Grace) and for Grace going to the conference childcare (she has been hesitant with strangers lately).
